Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760-1775.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a cove and ogee molded broken-scroll pediment terminating in carved roundels, with two turned ball-and-spire finials on plain plinths, a shaped central plinth, a molded arch above the door, arched sidelights, turned three-quarter columns at the back corners and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove and ovolo moldings at the top and a case door with an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, and molding at the bottom. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and an applied name boss engraved "Edwd Duffield Philadelphia." Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial and a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
